Golden Entertainment, Inc. Honors Heroic Team Members at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod with Chairman’s Award Ceremony

Las Vegas – April 21, 2022 – Golden Entertainment, Inc. has rolled out the company’s esteemed “Chairman’s Awards” at the company’s flagship property The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod, where 10 team members were honored for exemplary and sometimes life-saving acts performed while on the job.  

The Chairman’s Award is the most prestigious recognition Golden Entertainment awards to a team member who, in extraordinary circumstances, acts in a manner that ennobles themselves and the company by extraordinary acts of service.

“The difference between life and death can often mean taking immediate, decisive action,” said Steve Arcana, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Golden Entertainment. “We are incredibly proud of these award recipients, who demonstrated extreme bravery and potentially saved lives.”

Several of the award recipients were recognized for their immediate and lifesaving actions to return a guest who attempted to take their own life to safety. Other team members were honored for acting quickly to revive a guest who suffered cardiac arrest.

Arcana was joined at the ceremony, which was held at the top of The STRAT’s iconic tower in the indoor Observation Deck, by Blake L. Sartini, Chairman and CEO of Golden Entertainment, and Stephen Thayer, Vice President and General Manager of The STRAT, who together presented the heroic team members with Chairman Awards. The recipients include Freddie Sowell, Franklin Fournier, Amador Cruz, Sterling Bayne, Michael Turcotte, Michael Koenekamp, John Pilsitz, Carl Guerra and Christopher Christian from the security team; and David Bartholomew from the tower operations department.

The awarded recipients and executives from both The STRAT and Golden Entertainment later posed for photos and were treated to a reception with hors d'oeuvres and other refreshments throughout the remainder of the event.
